Venetia & Northern Italy: A travel work exploring the Northern parts of Italy, including Venice. Cecil Headlam was educated at Rugby School who alongside writing numerous travel and historical works played as a cricketer for Middlesex and Oxford University. With a folding map to the rear of the volume. Beautifully illustrated throughout, by Gordon Home, the English landscape artist. A well respected artist, his work was often exhibited at the Royal Academy, as well as at the first annual Society of Graphic Art Exhibition in 1921. The work successful captures the nuances of each Italian town and city, their unique culture, atmosphere and architecture.
