The English Cookery Book 'won a bronze medal and a diploma at the International Culinary Art in Berne in 1954... It's split into the four seasons & each season is covered under soups, fish, vegetables, meats & sweet things. The author was a farmers wife & knew the value of fresh food & economy...The recipes selected had been chosen from may thousands she had encountered over 25 years of managing a farm household.
Lucie [Nicoll] has only included simple useful dishes & only some recipes can be done by the verist beginner, but not all you, will need some experience of cooking as the methods are not exhaustive. All the way through economy, taste & ease of method are taken into consideration.' (Sharon, Falmouth, United Kingdom).
This fourth impression printed in 1945 (originally publish in 1932) is in very good condition. The paper stock is very odd, very thin paper of an almost yellow tinge. Spine is solid and no markings or foxing. https://hungrytraveller.com.au/3d-flip-book/english-cookery-book/
