The story spans a period of 60 years from 1908 presenting, in transit, not only a picture of family life in pre-war Hong Kong but goes on to sketch the colony's recovery from the trauma of enemy occupation.  Eastern Windows Western Skies is an exploration of the cultural and social dynamics between Eastern and Western societies, providing insights into their interactions and mutual influences during a pivotal era.
