A Voyage in the Sunbeam (1885)
A very readable account of a round- the- world voyage, west to east, in the mid-1870s, in a sailing yacht with a standby coal-fired engine, starting from England. Lots of interesting details about South America, where they landed and travelled about in several countries, then on to Tahiti etc.
If you are interested in social conditions in 19th century England, you can see what an extraordinarily privileged life the writer led (she was only the wife of a Member of Parliament).
